Common mistakes we make when assembling Wall Beds designed for self-assembly:

  1. Not thoroughly reading the instructions:
It often happens that steps in the instructions are skipped, or details are ignored, thinking that it’s simple. This leads to incorrect assembly of parts or the use of the wrong screws.
Failure to follow the instructions step by step can make the proper assembly of the Murphy Bed impossible.

  2. Mixing up screws:
Swapping screws and using them in wrong places can result in having to disassemble and facing difficulties in reassembling. Using the wrong screws can irreversibly damage the holes intended for them.
It’s important to use the screws specified in the instructions.

  3. Careless installation of springs or the folding mechanism:
Assembling the folding system requires precision, and any mistake in setting up the springs or other mechanisms can prevent the Wall Bed from functioning properly.

  4. Skipping reinforcements and screws:
People often skip additional screws or reinforcement parts, assuming they are unnecessary, which can weaken the overall structure’s stability.
No safety points should be ignored.

  5. Failing to check level and alignment:
If the structure is not leveled, the Wall Bed can be crooked and may not close properly or the folding mechanism may malfunction and finally get stuck completely.
The Hidden Bed must be precisely leveled during and after assembly.

  6. Incorrectly mounting to the wall:
UNIT REQUIRES TO BE SECURELY FASTENED TO THE WALL
A Wall-mounted Bed needs to be properly fastened to the wall using the appropriate, for your wall type, screws to ensure safety. Mistakes in this step may result in instability and a risk of the bed toppling over.
The Wall Bed must be properly fixed to the wall before use.

  7. Using the wrong mattress:
If the mattress is too thick or too heavy, it can make folding and unfolding the bed difficult and may overburden the mechanism.
The mattress should not exceed the maximum dimensions listed in the product description.

Keeping these points in mind will help avoid problems during the assembly of the Wall Bed, as well as issues with functionality and safety.
Avoiding these mistakes will ensure that you will use your Murphy Bed safely and efficiently, and you will enjoy it for many years to come.
